City In Motion Exhibition Monday May 16th, 2011

City in Motion, a Paul Kenton exhibition at the Birmingham ICC, starting 28th May for two weeks.  A vibrant and lively collection of original paintings.  Debuting Kenton’s exquisite watercolours, pieces of London, Paris and New York present an extra dimension to Kenton’s work; retaining his inimitable style, continuing to depict the fluidity, motion and mood of a city, he also offers a softer look at these infamous cities and creates an almost magical aura with the effervescent colour palette.

Subscribe to email updates for future exhibitions.

Canary Wharf, Covent Garden and St. Christopher’s Place – December Exhibitions Tuesday December 7th, 2010

On Tuesday 30th November Paul Kenton painted live to a busy shopping centre within Canary Wharf.  Jonathan Edwards, former Olympic champion and world record holder for the triple jump attended.   Paul painted an iconic building to be used for the Olympics, 2012.  Jonathan, on the London Committee for the Olympic Games, enjoyed having a go at painting, under the supervision and beady eye of Paul! Later that evening, Paul exhibited at the Artisan Gallery.  Continuing his popularity, Paul made additional rare appearances at the Artica Covent Garden and St Christopher’s Place galleries.

Artica, St Christophers Place, Covent Garden Saturday October 18th, 2008

The day went very well and it was fabulous to stay in Mayfair. It was a busy day, visiting three exhibitions between 12pm to 6pm, taxiing round the city between the three Artica galleries! Each exhibition one was busy and thanks to the hard work of the gallery staff nearly all the paintings were sold. After the exhibitions, we went for a meal, where it was great to properly meet all the staff at Artican. What a great team! Thanks very much for all your help and hospitality! Also, many thanks to all who came to the exhibitions, it was great to meet all of you.

Castle Galleries, Harrods, Knightsbridge, London Saturday October 11th, 2008

This was a new exhibition experience for me, as Harrods and Castle Gallery had arranged for me to paint live in the main Harrods Brompton Road window! It was a very nerve racking experience being so exposed, not helped by the fact it was right in front of the bus stop for the open-top London Sightseeing Tour! After half an hour, however, the knees stopped knocking & the brush started flowing.

As the store window had been decorated with a fantastic array of expensive items, including a grand piano complete with cut-crystal decanters & cocktail glasses, I decided not to paint in my current (& very messy!) dripping style, opting for a watercolour of the Harrods store instead. I was actually quite pleased with the finished result, considering the circumstances, even more so by the fact the painting was donated to a Charity auction.

Many thanks to Lucy & all the staff at Castle Gallery, Harrods, for making me so welcome & for working hard to make the day a success. Thanks also to Mat, my website designer & friend, for accompanying me & entertaining me on the piano(!). You can see his photos from the day on this page. The day even finished on a high note (no pun intended) as we bumped into Tom Jones in a great little pub near Hyde Park!

Artisan, Royal Exchange, London Thursday September 18th, 2008

This particular Artisan Gallery is in a fabulous location in the old Royal Exchange, London. The area has now been converted into very high-class shops, selling all manner of wonderfully extravangant items; Gucci, Rolex, etc. It’s also a wondefull gallery, with a team of superb staff and owners. I couldn’t ask for more, as the exhibition ran very smoothly, with many paintings sold. Thanks to everybody who took the time to come to the exhibition.
