“London is one of my favourite cities to paint, it has so many moods and dimensions I never tire of painting it. I find it exhilarating to express furious movement, artificial lights and the vibrancy of a busy city centre. As with all of my paintings I try to capture the spirit and energy of a place alongside it’s physical appearance, I wanted this piece to celebrate London, especially as 2012 is such an exciting year for the city.”

Capturing a snapshot of all things quintessentially from London Town, I kept the colouring simple in this piece.  Working with a minimal palette, adding flashes of red and yellow to highlight the iconic elements of the composition. The trademark bold red shapes of the telephone box and London bus created perfect composition with a  black London cab streaming past, delivering the rhythm and hub of the bustling streets of London.  The energy of iconic transport flows within this classic image.
