Battersea Power Station standing proud on the South Bank of the River Thames, with its distinct chimneys towering into bright blue skies. Paul layers oil paint thickly to capture the subtle movement of the clouds in the sky and rippling reflections on the water. Paul is fascinated by capturing these fleeting moments in time, and how the mood of the urban landscape can be transformed by ever-changing light and weather conditions.
You might also enjoy these other London paintings from Paul's 365 Project. This was a year-long journey exploring a different range of mediums & working at sizes often smaller, than with his studio pieces. In many cases these formed the studies behind the larger studio works.
