About “Devon Light”
“This is one of my favourite spots along the Tarka Trail in North Devon. This secluded beach is not possible to get to unless you are on a boat, so it is a really special location to paint. What I find beautiful about this untouched oasis is that as the afternoon sun hits the flat slate cliffs, the shining silver patina on the rocks is exposed. To create the diverse shades and textures of the rock, I mixed a variety of greys on my palette and layered them down with defined brushstrokes, finishing with a few highlights of glistening white.”
