‘London Radiance’ depicts a fiery sunset over London, which transforms the skyline into rich shades of burnt orange and red. Paul builds up layers of liquid resin, moving it around to achieve dramatic and atmospheric blends of colour. Painted onto gleaming aluminium which shines through the resin, the artwork appears to radiate light and warmth. Within this glowing cityscape, you can spot iconic structures such as the Gherkin, the Walkie-Talkie and the Shard, as well as Tower Bridge on the River Thames.
You might also enjoy these other London paintings from Paul's 365 Project. This was a year-long journey exploring a different range of mediums & working at sizes often smaller, than with his studio pieces. In many cases these formed the studies behind the larger studio works.
