This piece captures a moment of reunion as a couple embrace in front of the Grand Central Information Booth Clock, a popular meeting place for generations of New Yorkers. The title of this piece is inspired by the famous phrase ‘Meet me under the clock’, which is well known to refer to this very clock within the terminal. Paul paints the clock in gold leaf to portray the glistening presence of this special historical landmark. Figures are loosely described with fluid black dripped paint to suggest their quick movement through the concourse.
