Grand Central Station in New York, painted with a monochrome colour palette and finished with Paul’s signature black and white dripping technique. Splashes of wet paint diffuse throughout the piece, creating subtle texture and a freshly-painted feel. A soft glow of light is cast upon the scene, emphasised by hints of metallic gold paint, and the glimmering clock standing as a focal point in the centre.
You might also enjoy these other New York paintings from Paul's 365 Project. This was a year-long journey exploring a different range of mediums & working at sizes often smaller, than with his studio pieces. In many cases these formed the studies behind the larger studio works.
