Original Oils on Aluminium
Using a palette knife, Paul builds up layers of rich texture, capturing the fast movement of this busy New York street. Orange and blue lights are reflected throughout the scene, piercing through the darkness of the night. Leaving areas of aluminium unpainted, Paul allows for light to bounce from windows and the metallic surfaces of the buildings, adding to the lively energy of this striking piece.
My cityscapes reflect the many moods of manmade landscapes; I find it exhilarating to express furious movement, artificial lights and the vibrancy of a busy city centre at night as well as the subtler moods of a misty dawn at the same venue
