"City Morning" is an original mixed media painting on board capturing the quiet momentum of an American city as the day begins, a lone car heading into the urban canyon ahead whilst golden light breaks between the towering steel and glass facades on either side. The cool blue of the skyscrapers plays beautifully against the warm amber flooding the street below, with dripped paint marks and bold palette knife strokes bringing texture and energy to both the architecture and the road stretching into the distance. At 12 x 16 inches, it is an intimate piece that nonetheless carries the full weight and scale of the city around it.
