"London Nocturne" is an original mixed media painting on board presenting a sweeping panoramic view across the capital as dusk settles over the city. The Shard pierces the skyline to the right whilst the Thames curves through the middle distance, its surface catching faint traces of teal and gold against the gathering dark, with Tower Bridge and the towers of Canary Wharf dissolving into the haze beyond. Paul's bold palette knife marks build a brooding atmosphere across the canvas, flashes of red and crimson igniting the foreground shadows and giving the whole city a restless, smouldering energy beneath its quiet exterior.
