Vista Reflections presents a broad, elevated view across London as twilight settles over the city. From this vantage point, the Thames winds calmly through silhouetted landmarks, while soft light catches the rooftops and riverbanks below. Painted in mixed media on aluminium, the surface plays a subtle yet powerful role in the mood of the piece. Paul leaves selected areas of metal exposed, using the raw material to define the river and sharpen architectural details. In The Shard, the aluminium has been carefully polished, allowing it to catch light just like the real structure does — mirroring the last glow of the day and adding a quiet luminosity that shifts with your position in front of the painting. The composition leans into space and softness. Gentle palette knife sweeps build up the architectural rhythm of the skyline, while delicate textures in the sky suggest a haze beginning to settle.
