A pale moon hangs in a turbulent, ink-dark sky as the London skyline stretches low along the horizon, its clustered towers reduced to soft silhouettes. Below, the foreground rooftops dissolve into deep shadow, pricked here and there by points of light that hint at the living city beneath.
Kenton builds the drama with brooding washes and dragged, weathered marks, the sky swept with cloud and the buildings barely surfacing from the gloom. It is moody, expansive and quietly atmospheric.
This is an original ink on Indian paper painting, part of the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
