A blaze of sunset breaks over the London skyline, washing the sky in amber, rose and soft slate. The familiar clock tower and a low bridge sit along the riverbank, their warm and cool tones spilling down into the Thames in loose, watery reflections.
Kenton works wet and free here, letting pigment bloom and run so that the city seems to dissolve into its own light. The result is romantic, fluid and full of air.
This is an original watercolour and ink on Indian paper painting, part of the Artisan Paper Collection. Float mounted with a black frame, it is signed by Paul Kenton.
