"Night Drive" follows a rain-soaked road at night, tail lights and street lamps burning in warm orange and red against the darkness of the trees on either side, their glow stretched into long reflections across the wet tarmac. It's a quieter, more atmospheric subject than Paul's city work — a familiar everyday scene caught in loose, confident brushwork with a palette built on deep shadow and warm light. Painted in mixed media on board as a 24 x 18 inch original.
