A wide riverside promenade sweeps away beneath a sky alive with broken, scudding cloud. An ornate Victorian lamppost rises at the centre, plane trees lean in from the right, and across the water the domes and bridges of the city catch a pale glimmer of light.
Kenton handles the dramatic sky with energetic, mottled washes, the wet ink pooling into the suggestion of weather and movement. It is unmistakably London by the Thames, breezy and full of air.
This is an original ink on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
