The Sea King Helicopter

Paul Kenton gifts a painting to charity as North Devon says goodbye to Sea King Helicopter

The iconic yellow helicopter of RAF Search and Rescue Squadron 22 has flown for the final time at Chivenor, North Devon.

October 1st 2015 marked an end to decades of life-saving by the Royal Air Force, whose search and rescue operation have now been replaced by a private company outside of Devon.

Before the Sea King took its final flight Paul Kenton spent the day with the 22-squadron team to sketch, paint and photograph the helicopter.  The final outcome was a painting that incorporated the Search and Rescue team alongside the iconic yellow helicopter.  Paul gifted this painting to local charities in North Devon.
