A lighthouse stands sentinel at the end of a long pier, its tower rising into a heavy, washed sky while an elevated catwalk marches out beside it on slender legs. Patches of ice and pale stone catch the muted light, and the whole scene mirrors faintly in the cold, glassy water below.
The palette is pared back to sepia greys, the brushwork loose and confident, with the rhythmic shadows of the pier supports giving the piece its quiet structure and depth.
This is an original ink on Indian paper painting, part of the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
