“A sketch of three elderly Portuguese lads, who I can imagine meet every morning to have a chat and put the world to rights. I found it amusing that the man standing up was holding his wife's handbag discreetly behind his back, so as to not be mocked by his mates. To capture this classic shot of Portuguese life, I recorded the moment down on paper quickly and loosely to give the impression of the subtle movement of the figures and their comfort in each others company. ”
