"Thames Winter Light" is a quiet, atmospheric view along the South Bank on a wet winter's evening, with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament visible across the river through a cool, cloudy sky. Two figures walk the rain-slicked embankment, the glow of the Victorian lamp posts catching in the wet pavement below, whilst bare trees frame the left of the composition. Painted in oil on aluminium as a 128cm x 128cm original, the metal surface lends a subtle luminosity to the wet ground and lamplight that suits the mood of the scene perfectly.
