NYC Heliotrope

This work was initiated by digitising an original Manhattan cityscape painting in mixed media on aluminium sheet. New York City streets are ablaze with cyberpunk hues and streaks of light as a traditional painted scene is transported forward in time, extracted from the physical into the digital realm. Is this still art?

To create this NYC piece, the physical painting was digitised using a Leica M (Type 240) rangefinder camera, paired with the Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 lens for superlative colour depth and image quality, preserving the tones and textures of the source painting. Composited images were then enhanced and expanded upon with multiple digitally hand drawn animated embellishments recorded. These are interwoven into the futuristic urban scene to create the final NFT.
