Water Lilies

A digital progression of Paul’s original oil painting ‘Water Lily Reflections’. Inspired by Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ series, Paul creates this tranquil lily pond scene. Thick brushstrokes of oil paint give the impression of rippling pond water and the gentle bob of blossoming pink lilies on the water’s surface. Reflected in the pond are hints of the blue sky above and the surrounding trees, highlighting the ability of water to reflect light and the ever-changing conditions of nature. The rich glossiness of the oil paint gives the surface of the painting a subtle sheen which catches the light. The transformation into the digital realm allows the lilies to float and undulate on the surface of the pond, in harmony with the movements of the water.
