The unique material of aluminium offers a multi-layered artwork that will transform in different settings. Part of an unprecedented pair, the inspiration for this artistic revelation was a summer road trip to Mount Blanc. From Chamonix at the base of Mont Blanc, Paul travelled to the top of Aiguille du Midi, which offered spectacular panoramic views of the French, Swiss and Italian Alps.
Besides the majestic scale and skyline of the mountains, the sense of light blew me away. I was mesmerised by the blinding luminosity of the white snow, and how distant mountains disappeared into a blue haze. Needless to say, I was compelled to capture what I had seen with paint back at the studio
