To create this large scale mountainscape painting, Paul scraped and sculpted paint into the rugged, snow-covered peak of Mount Everest. He painted with rich, tonal colours to capture dramatic contrasts of light and shade, and to portray the mountains’ monumental volume. The luminosity of the metal shines through, creating the effect of sun bouncing off the gossamer snow.
