The sun sinks low over the Grand Canal, casting a ribbon of liquid gold down the centre of the water. A great domed church rises in soft silhouette against a sky washed in violet, rose and amber, while palazzi line each bank, their faces catching the last warmth of the day. The lagoon answers with broken reflections of light.
With watercolour, gouache and charcoal, Kenton balances luminous colour against the quiet weight of the architecture.
