The sun erupts at the heart of the horizon, scattering fierce rays of orange and yellow through a sky banded in violet and crimson cloud. Its light spills across the water in a shimmering vertical path, the foreground shore glowing with reflected warmth where wet sand meets the tide. It is a moment of pure radiance, dramatic and elemental.
Fluid washes of colour bleed into one another, the gouache lifting points of brilliance from the burning core of the sky.
