The sun sinks low and burns a path of molten light across open water, its reflection rippling toward the shore in streaks of gold and rose. Above, bruised violet clouds break to reveal fierce bands of orange and crimson, the sea below cooling into deep lilac and indigo.
This is Kenton at his most lyrical, working pure watercolour wet into wet so that colour blooms and dissolves across the page. The mirrored sun-path gives the piece its title, a moment of radiant, breathless stillness.
