“City Pulse”

Looking straight down a broad avenue, the city rises in dark towers streaked with windows that catch the light in flashes of warm gold. Traffic streams toward the viewer, headlamps and tail lights flickering against the wet road, while pops of amber and rust hint at trees lining the kerb beneath a brooding, brushed sky.
The palette plays deep charcoal greys against vivid gold and ember, giving the scene a charged, pulsing vitality that lives up to its name.
This is an original watercolour, gouache and ink painting on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection. It is float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
