A striking abstract piece, painted with a vivid colour palette of contrasting reds and blues. Layering red paint over a blue background, Paul creates an illusion of space and distance, as the red appears to almost spring off the canvas. Paul throws himself into the painting process, striking the canvas with wide gestural brushmarks and thick scrapings of paint. He also incorporates gold leaf to give the painting a unique shimmering quality. The final artwork is a visual burst of colour, light and energy.
