The famous wedge-shaped building slices into the heart of the picture, its bronze flank towering over a canyon of Manhattan streets streaked with yellow cabs. Kenton works in metallic golds and cool greys, scratching highlights into the facades and letting the avenue plunge away in dramatic perspective. Splashes of foliage gild the lower corners, grounding the soaring verticals.
There is a glamour and grandeur to it, the unmistakable swagger of New York rendered in gilded light.
