“Gleaming Tides”

The sky erupts in ribbons of coral, gold and bruised violet, the last of the sun smouldering on the horizon. Below, the tide draws back across rippled sand, its surface streaked with fiery reflections and cool turquoise pools that pull the eye straight out to sea.
This is Kenton in a freer, more elemental register, the watercolour flooding and bleeding to capture the raw colour and movement of a shoreline at dusk.
This is an original watercolour on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
