A lively interpretation of the classic view of St Mark’s Basilica from across the Grand Canal in Venice.
The beautiful colours of sunset are captured using a vibrant palette, whilst loose washes of paint emphasise the movement and fluidity of the scene.
After allowing the paint to drip and puddle freely on the paper, Paul applies some thick juicy brush strokes. As a result, this piece has a highly textured, tactile and dynamic surface.
