The mighty silhouette of Brooklyn Bridge fits perfectly between the buildings as you look down this New York street. A flurry of taxi’s rush towards the city, leaving yellow trails of light in their path. Even as the sun sets, you get the sense that this city is far from slowing down for the evening.

This painting continues my fascination with the way colour can dramatically affect the mood and essence of a place. Here, the rich orange sunset burns intensely, emphasising the silhouetted Manhattan Bridge in the centre, and the surrounding towering buildings

Whilst there are many easily recognisable skyscrapers in the skyline, walking the streets also feels intimately familiar, as the sights and sounds of timeless photographs, movies and tv shows surround you. Paul strives to bring this energy and intimacy into each of his New York cityscape paintings.
