Night falls on a glistening avenue and the city catches fire with colour. A solitary figure crosses beneath a red umbrella, dwarfed by towers that recede toward a distant deco spire, every neon sign and shopfront smeared into long, jewelled reflections on the wet tarmac.
Painted in confident gouache on black paper, Kenton lets the dark ground do its work, electric oranges, blues and reds vibrating against the gloom. Bold gestural strokes capture the shimmer of rain and the restless pulse of the street.
