The lights are loud, the colours louder. This is New York at full throttle. With mixed media and metallic textures, the painting pulses with momentum, capturing the chaos, clarity, and colour of the city when it hits its prime. It’s night-time energy on canvas, built from movement, light, and reflection. “Prime Time New York” began life not on an easel, but on the floor of Paul’s studio. The base canvas was originally used to protect the workspace during months of painting, gradually building up rich textures and colour from countless artworks. Repurposed into a finished piece, this layered surface forms the foundation of the final composition, complete with traces of Paul’s Doc Martens, grounding the artwork in both his process and his daily rhythm as an urban painter.
