Neon spells the city's name in red against a deep evening sky as a Manhattan street rushes toward the viewer. Cabs and pedestrians move through the rain-slicked crossing, headlamps and signage bleeding warm gold and ruby across the wet asphalt. Towers crowd in from either side, alive with countless lit windows.
Kenton builds the energy with watercolour and gouache, layering luminous lights over deep shadow to capture the restless pulse of the avenue after dark.
