Figures hurry across a rain-streaked crossing, one sheltering beneath an umbrella as cars wait at the kerb. Tall buildings press in on either side, their facades sketched in quick, nervy ink lines, while reflections streak down the wet road toward the viewer.
The scene is alive with motion and weather, built from energetic marks and loose tonal washes that leave plenty to the imagination. It has the feel of a moment glimpsed in passing.
This is an original ink on Indian paper painting, part of the Artisan Paper Collection. Float mounted with a black frame, it is signed by Paul Kenton.
