Indian Paper Float Framing
This piece is painted onto very thick, handmade Indian paper, with 'torn' edges. Rather than using a more conventional framing method, which is not practical with paper this thick, this piece is framed using a beautiful 'Floating Frame' technique, where the artwork is mounted to a backboard, revealing all of those fantastic edges, with the clear acrylic face of the frame being suspended a couple of centimetres above the surface, making for a unique complete piece of art. The following pictures show closeups of an example of Indian paper float framing.
