Mist rolls down a rain-slicked avenue, softening the bare winter trees and the silhouettes of figures who recede into a pale, luminous haze. A single yellow cab cuts through the muted greys, its warm reflection bleeding in molten orange across the wet tarmac. The mood is hushed and cinematic, a fleeting moment caught between movement and stillness.
Worked in a near-monochrome palette punctuated by that one electric flash of colour, the piece carries all the atmosphere of a cold, glistening morning in the city.
This is an original watercolour, gouache and ink painting on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection. It is float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
