To create the unusual effect in this statement abstract artwork, Paul built a unique machine that enabled him to paint the canvas as it continually rotated on a large cylinder. The constant motion of the canvas beneath his painting tools created a truly dynamic surface made up of many layers of bold, colourful dripped lines, which form a striking linear pattern. A layer of resin gives the painting a glistening surface that catches the light. The finished piece exudes a great sense of energy and movement, which coupled with the large scale, makes for an immersive experience.
