“Vibrant Times” is a bold, abstract-impressionist portrayal of Times Square, Manhattan, exploding with energy and colour. Built upon one of Paul’s repurposed floor canvases, the surface is thick with impasto, spontaneous mark-making, and vibrant splashes of metallics. Towering signage and jumbled architecture merge into a rich visual rhythm — a chaotic harmony of vertical lines, electric tones, and erratic texture. Before any scene was formed, the raw canvas substrate of the piece lived on Paul’s studio floor, absorbing the residue of weeks of painting sessions. Drips, footprints, and rogue strokes collected naturally, layering over time with real-world grit. In “Vibrant Times”, that layered history mirrors the layered reality of New York — messy, bright, relentless.
