This artwork encompasses the essence of an autumn forest’s enchanting transformation into a vibrant canvas of amber, deep reds, and golden yellows. A solitary tree stands prominently in the foreground, its commanding presence lending strength and character to the scene. Beneath its boughs lies a glowing bed of golden leaves, creating a enthralling contrast with the surrounding trunks and branches.
The painting’s unique charm lies in its fusion of impressionism with dynamic spontaneity. The brushwork, a medley of splatters, daubs and flicks, infuses the artwork with vitality, reminiscent of the swirling winds that sweep through the forest. Bold, impasto strokes laid over thick base layers craft intense depth and texture, recreating the intricate details of the trees and forest. Throughout the canvas, glimmers of metallic paint capture the elusive play of filtered light, as it pierces through the canopy above.

“Woodland Wander” is an Original Landscape Painting by Paul Kenton. Paul is an avid ‘Plein Air’ painter, whereby he will explore the landscapes, countrysides and coastlines of the countries he travels to, and will capture the scenes in paintings and sketches whilst outside in the open air. Paul then often uses these smaller artworks as the inspiration and guidance behind his larger studio works. In his 365 Project, Paul actually dedicated an entire year to creating art ‘Plein Air’ every single day. In the trailer for the project, Paul can be seen painting from the waters of his local Devon coastlines, all the way to the streets of Manhattan: Watch Paul painting ‘Plein Air’ in the 365 Project Trailer on YouTube.
