After the fantastic reception of Paul Kenton’s Metallique collections, Paul launched his new collection ‘London / New York’ in March 2019, with his first solo exhibition in New York City.
Organised by Castle Fine Art and hosted by Chase Contemporary Gallery in Chelsea in Manhattan, the exhibition featured paintings of two of Paul’s favourite cities – London and New York. Taking inspiration from several sketching trips in both cities, the works in the exhibition captured a diverse range of scenes, from beaming lights dashing around the city, to tranquil riverside sunsets. With the aim of portraying a sense of the vitality of both London and New York, Paul painted with quick fluid brushwork and layers of rich colour and texture against gleaming metal.

Upon returning to the UK after the exhibition opening in New York, Paul brought his exhibition tour to a close with a display of the collection at Castle Fine Art in Covent Garden. A limited edition book was released to accompany the exhibition, featuring all of the works in the collection and photographs from Paul’s trips, giving a behind the scenes glimpse into the creation of this new body of cityscape paintings.
