"Midtown Shadows" is an original mixed media painting on board placing the viewer amongst the midday crowds of Fifth Avenue, figures casting long dramatic shadows across a brilliantly lit pavement as the Chrysler Building glimmers in the distance. The composition is built on contrast — the intense white light flooding the street floor set against the cool blue-grey of the towering facades rising steeply on either side, with bold palette knife marks giving the architecture a raw, textured energy. At 25 x 17 inches, it is a piece that captures not just a place but a feeling — the particular anonymity and momentum of New York at its busiest.
