Land rather than city — cliffs, valleys, farmland and distant blue hills, most of it painted outdoors.
North Devon and Exmoor dominate, the coast Paul has lived beside since he was eight, with Cornwall, Tuscany and the Alps alongside. Gouache, watercolour and oils on paper and board, worked fast enough to keep the weather in.
