“Dark Midtown”

74 x 30 cm | 29.25 x 11.75 in

Framed Dimensions (approx.): 88 x 44 cm | 34.75 x 17.25 in

"Dark Midtown" looks up through a rain-soaked Manhattan street at night, the buildings closing in darkly on either side as a lit tower rises into a turbulent grey and blue sky at the centre. The lower half is deep in shadow, broken up by the amber and red glow of headlights and shopfronts reflecting across the wet road below. Painted in mixed media on board as a 30 x 74cm original, the tall format and dark palette give this one a brooding, close-in atmosphere.
