Beneath the dark girders of an elevated track, the avenue smoulders with warmth. Yellow cabs idle in pools of amber light, neon signage flickers above a corner storefront, and the wet road throws long reflections back into the gloom. There is a cinematic stillness here, the city caught between motion and pause.
Working in watercolour, gouache and ink, Kenton plays deep shadow against electric glow, the heavy structure overhead framing a stage of light below.
