An elevated railway cuts across a warm, sunlit street, its red ironwork glowing against pavements washed in apricot and rose. A traffic signal and a one-way sign anchor the foreground while figures stroll toward the light, a lone car crossing beneath the tracks.
The palette is unexpectedly warm and inviting, with crisp draughtsmanship softened by loose, bleeding washes. There is real sunlight and easy movement in the scene.
This is an original watercolour, gouache and ink on Indian paper painting, part of the Artisan Paper Collection. Float mounted with a black frame, it is signed by Paul Kenton.
