Dusk settles over a city corner where a red traffic signal glows above a one-way sign and the rust-red girders of an elevated railway. Lit windows flicker in the buildings beyond, and a lone figure walks the wet pavement as reflections shimmer underfoot.
Worked in gouache on black paper, the painting draws its drama from light emerging out of darkness, warm signals set against cool blue shadow. It captures the charged quiet of a street at nightfall.
