Framed beneath the heavy iron underbelly of a railway bridge, the warm sign of Miller's Pub glows quietly across a rain-slicked street. Parked cars sit in shadow and two figures linger on the pavement, while light pools on the road and spills from shopfronts into the dark.
Kenton uses deep, brooding washes of ink to build the weight of the structure overhead, then lets soft luminous tones lead the eye to the lit doorway beyond. The mood is hushed, nocturnal and cinematic.
