A lone figure stands tall in a slim wooden boat, cap tilted, one arm flung out toward something beyond the frame. The gesture is loose yet certain, the stance balanced against still water rendered in the softest washes. Around him the paper breathes, almost empty, lending the moment a quiet, expectant calm.
Worked in fluid ink, the painting captures movement and poise with just a few confident strokes, the warm bloom of pigment giving the figure weight and presence.
